Pedalling efficiency is enhanced by the narrow Q-factor (only 177 mm between the crank plates), the same as the current XT. The motor covers hide the cables and fixing screws from view. Designed for a shorter rear derailleur to match the geometry of a normal MTB, this motor produces 70Nm of constant maximum torque and 250 Watts of power. The Shimano 8020 504Wh battery is fully integrated into the down tube and provides up to 100km of range on one charge. The 80% can be charged in less than two hours and the 100% in five hours, with a life cycle of 1,000 recharges without significant power loss. The system is controlled by the computer with colour LCD display, which indicates the servo mode and battery level.
