A route that reaches Verona passing through tracks cycle paths and secondary country roads is the route from Peschiera del Garda, passes through Bussolengo to end at Verona. Starting from Desenzano Del Garda the route is fantastic, although long and not very demanding if done calmly.
Peschiera - Verona cycle path
The route is about 32 km long (one way) and does not present any difficulties except for a short climb halfway up.
You always cycle on local cycle paths or country roads with little traffic.
From the lakefront of Peschiera del Garda you cycle in the direction of Pacengo and then towards the countryside to the east of the lake. The route follows quiet side roads to the small village of Barbarago.
In view of Bussolengo you take a convenient bicycle path that leads to the historic centre. The area is closed to car traffic and is therefore ideal for cycling.
Leaving the city centre, still on the cycle path, you reach the banks of a canal parallel to the Adige River.
We then follow the course of the canal to Verona, a city of art and World Heritage Site. Verona deserves an in-depth visit. Home to the famous Arena, it is known throughout the world as the city of Romeo and Juliet.
A leisurely visit to the city of Verona, declared UNESCO World Heritage Site and visited each year by millions of people from all over the world.
It preserves important monuments from all historical eras. Suffice it to mention the most famous: the Arena from the Roman era, the medieval Basilica of San Zeno, Piazza dei Signori from the Scaligera era, the Porta Nuova from the Venetian era.
The return to Peschiera del Garda is along the same road as the outward journey. Alternatively, Verona is an important railway junction from which it is easy to reach the main Italian cities.
